Reopening of the Pavilion of Portugal

The Pavilion of Portugal has just reopened after the renovation works
According to the University of Lisbon website:
“The requalification now completed was carefully monitored by the studio of the Architect, Álvaro Siza Vieira, fully respecting the vision and integrity of the original project.
From now on this will be a new multidisciplinary space with an Exhibition Centre and a Congress Centre, which will be able to host a variety of cultural, scientific and corporate events, among others, taking advantage of its unique characteristics and privileged location.
The reopening ceremony was attended by a number of personalities, including the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, the Minister of Culture, Dalila Rodrigues, the Ombudsman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, the former Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho, and the Lisbon City Councillor, Diogo Moura.
In his speech, the Rector of the University of Lisbon emphasised that the Pavilion of Portugal is a symbol of boldness, vision and the future. It is a bridge between the University and society, a home for all who seek to know more and imagine better.
Diogo Ferreira Leite, a student at ULisboa, emphasised the importance of this space, in which the Academy opens up to society, providing a place where there is room for everyone.
Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira gave his testimony via video, in which he expressed his delight at the recovery of this space and its openness to society, as promoted by the University of Lisbon.
Finally, the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, emphasised the differentiating factor of “Universidade de Lisboa” projects, which place it in a very special position within our higher education system.”
The requalification works were authorised in 2018, but have only just been completed, in an investment of more than 12 million euros, making it suitable for promoting various activities in the areas of science, culture and innovation.
Projectual is proud to have participated in the project, ensuring the areas of Special Installations for Hydraulics, Gas, Electricity, Communications, Electronic Safety, Security, Automation and the Thermal and Acoustic Building Physics Projects.
